The Beauty of Wat Ratchanatdaram Bangkok by Jacques Travels and History ...

Today, I enjoyed a relaxed after doing some work in the morning, and having some free time in the afternoon. It was time for me dig the new book I bought The National Book Fair " 22 walk ways in Bangkok: Exploring the city's historic back lance and byways" by Kenneth Barrett. Being a Bangkokian native, I'm surprised to find the book offers sights even I haven't explored beyond the familiar boundaries of popular places like a Siam Square. Barret's experiences bring to life the hidden alleyways of Bangkok, as he himself born and raised in this city.

With the book's new inspirations I started to craft my own adventures. The book's seventh itinerary especially captivated me: a journey from Phra Kan Fort, tracing the old city moat to Phra Sumen Fort, with iconic temples and landmarks lining the route. With the book, and my camera in my day bag, I eagerly set out to explore.

I often feel that to truly immerse oneself in the local Bangkok experience, a ride on Saen Saep Canal Boat is the key. Disembarking at Phan Fa Bridge Piper, at the intersection of the Saen Saep Canal and the city moat, is the perfect starting point.
